VOLVO OCEAN RACE
From Alicante to Galway The 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race will start with the In-Port Race on 29 October in Alicante, Spain and the route will go to Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Sanya, Auckland and on to Itajaí. Next stop is Miami and then across the Atlantic to Lisbon followed by Lorient and Galway.

ATP tennis tournament Valencia
The Valencia tournament will be reborn in 2009, transitioning from a spring clay court event to an indoor hard court ATP World Tour 500 tournament held in the second-to-last week of the regular season. With its new calendar position, the Valencia Open is set to serve as a prime battleground for the men’s best tennis players as they attempt to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. This tournament will take place in Valencia from October 30th to November 7th 2010 in the impresive venue "Agora", the newest building inside of the City of Arts and Science.
